Permits for buildings are what most plot plans and site plans are for, and it's the biggest share of the work we do. If your city or county building department is asking for a site plan before it will issue a permit, this is the product you need.
A plot plan (sometimes called a site plan) shows the boundary lines of a property along with existing and proposed structures, drawn to scale, with setbacks marked so the reviewer can confirm the building fits where you intend to put it.
It's a lighter-weight product than a full boundary survey, which is why it works well for permitting.
